Solution Innovate was tasked to come up with a new office Air Conditioning system for the Catholic Dio of Auckland head office. They had an existing open plan, with full height vaulted ceilings. The existing underfloor hydronic heating system had long failed, along with the expensive Gas Boiler. They also were getting very hot in summer, so a full AC system was needed. We calculated the heat loads, and set about adapting the existing fresh air system to include full air conditioning. We then contacted our suppliers Smooth Aire and Temperzone NZ Ltd for the hardwear to this problem. Using two ducted Temperzone systems that were located in the existing ceiling cavity we matched it to a new central Soft Duct system to evenly distribute the conditoned fresh air into the open place space. The results were outstanding, with zero draughts, minimal noise and happy staff. The fact the energy bill also halved with environmental inverter heat pump systems was a added bonus.
